Each of the Twelve Powers is coordinated with a month, color, disciple and the body location, as listed above. When focusing on the Power of Imagination between the eyes in the front of the brain, visualize the color light blue, call upon the Disciple Nathanael for guidance and support, and repeat the following affirmation:
“I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW”
Visualization, Creativity, Vision, Imaging, Observation, Preparation, Rest/relax, Be here now, Dreams.
Eyes, vision, pituitary gland, sexual responses, certain muscular structures, and metabolism, all mental and emotional nature. Works closely with Faith Center. You can begin to transform your health as well as every phase of your life. The character of both your soul and body is affected by your imagination. (Catherine Ponder’s “Healing Secret of the Ages-).
The above subjects can become issues for healing during this course whether or not you’re doing it in June. The monthly associations are especially helpful for further attuning to the energies. For instance, “Myrtle Fillmore: Mother of Unity” mentions her dreams and visions of Unity. Her husband, Charles, also speaks of dreams, and the ability to foresee the future through visions as he developed his Power of Imagination.
ABOUT THE MUSIC
Musical accompaniment for your seminar further impresses upon your subconscious the lessons. Whenever you hear, at any time in the future, the melodies, your seminar experience will be refreshed in your consciousness. Some suggested songs and music are included. Adding your own can be fun, creative and expanding; it also provides an opportunity for adventure and self-awareness as you search for the appropriate music. Preparing your own tapes of the Processes and/or musical accompaniment is especially impressive upon your subconscious. I’ve spent hours, days, weeks searching out just the right music or song, which keeps me focused on the lessons. I use the following music in my seminars. However, any music that helps to impress these songs on your subconscious mind are okay. I’d love to hear your suggestions. If you don’t have access to music don’t worry, the program works without it.

I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW
If you’ve worked with your Intuition during the “Understanding” Power you may have had memories or pictures from a past lifetime. This can be a shock, especially if you don’t believe you have psychic abilities. But if you recall the first glimpse of Nathanael in the Bible, you’ll notice it’s a clear account of clairvoyance: “Philip found Nathanael and said to him, ‘We have found him of whom Moses In the law and also the prophets write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’ Nathanael said to him, ‘Can anything good come out of Nazareth?’ Philip said to him, ‘Come and see.’ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him and said of him, ‘Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!’ Nathanael said to him, ‘How do you know me?’ Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” Nathanael answered him, ‘Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!’ Jesus answered him, ‘Because I said to you, I saw you Under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these..’ And he said to him, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.'” This story gives the Imagination opportunity to pursue the meaning. You may use your intuition as you color the mandala for further understanding. I combined my intuition with intellect by doing some research for deeper insight into these words. I began with my Concordance under Kingdom of Heaven, which is used in Matthew’s version. Mark and Luke refer to the same passages using “Kingdom of God.” Let’s study the statement of Jesus, ‘The Kingdom of God (heaven) is within.” With this in mind, then when He told Nathanael he would see “heaven opened,” He was referring to the opening of one’s consciousness or understanding into the higher realm (of the Superconscious or I AM).
With this in mind we can pursue His statement “Angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.” Again there is discrepancy in terminology. Jesus has also mentioned son of Man, Son of Man, and son of God. He did not refer to himself as Son of God, although others did. When Pilate referred to Him as Son of God, Jesus said, “You say that I am.”
Could it be that Jesus was referring to His Superconscious (I AM) which is within us all? If so His reference to “angels” could be divine ideas coming down from the substance or energy of God (Divine Mind) in the spiritual realm. He could be referring to these ideas (angels) coming from the Superconscious (descending) and the lower thoughts (sensual and material) being lifted-up or ascending into a higher consciousness so all are merged into oneness when we can affirm as did Jesus, “The Father and I are one.”
This Power further opens up and develops our intuitive and psychic abilities to see (perceive) without actually being there, as Jesus seeing Nathanael under the fig tree, and seeing him “without guile.” He could see his soul. And concerning Nathanael’s statement, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” This town did not have the “AAA” #1 rating in the travel guide. And literally smelled bad because of the animals running loose. I haven’t been there in person, but that’s what I’ve read. It’s conjectured by many that Jesus was using clairsentience or inner knowing, also called intuition when he spoke about Nathanael. Allow your Imagination to soar as you tune into Nathanael, or visit with him in the Garden of Gethsemane Process.
THE “COAT OF MANY COLORS”
The Twelve Powers are not only represented by the disciples (New Testament), but also the Twelve Tribes of Israel (Old Testament). Joseph (from the Old Testament), who represents Imagination, lived a colorful and varied life. He is most remembered for his “coat of many colors,” and his ability to interpret dreams (closely associated with imaging and visualizing), and for his statement, “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good…”. I can really identify with Joseph. because of my former rainbow ministry, and I often wore rainbow clothes. He has become one of my favorite Biblical characters because of my Freedom Ministry with prisoners. He too was in prison — for ten or twelve years. Joseph’s life teaches three important lessons for personal transformation, and he’s a good example because he transformed his adversities as a shepherd’s son to becoming the prime minister of Egypt, second only to Pharaoh. Two illustrations are keys to our transformation process: Preparation and Be Here Now. Let’s examine his life to see how they pertain to Imagination.
In Joseph’s story we learn that as his father’s favorite, because he was the “son of his old age,” (the Bible explains) he gave Joseph a “coat of many colors.” This did not win points with the older brothers, especially because their dad assigned Joseph the task of reporting on the older boys’ activities while they were shepherding. Needless to say the brothers “could not speak peaceably with him,” according to the Bible. And that’s putting it mildly, because he “went a bridge too far,” as I often say. Joseph had two symbolic dreams in which his brothers and father bowed down to him. Apparently Joseph hadn’t learned diplomacy so he told them the dream. By now the brothers’ tempers were at a boiling point, so one day when the father sent Joseph to check up on them again, they plotted to kill him. But Rueben suggested they drop him in a pit for the wild animals to destroy. First they removed his coat, and about that time a caravan traveling to Egypt passed by, so they sold Joseph to the owner. Then they tore his coat, and covered it with blood. When they returned home with the coat they told their father wild animals had devoured Joseph. His father was grief-stricken, and mourned his son for many years. In the meantime Joseph had been sold into slavery as an overseer in the home of Potiphar, the captain of the guard for Pharaoh.
Potiphar’s wife endeavored to entice the young Joseph (he was only seventeen), but to no avail. As a woman scorned she framed Joseph, and caused his imprisonment.(Read this fascinating story in your Bible. It gives a vivid account of his colorful life, so I will limit myself to sharing only the material that applies to the subjects at hand).
While in prison he outgrew his “spoiled brat” behavior that caused his estrangement from father (Jacob) and his eleven brothers. Obviously he discovered and practised Spiritual Laws because the Bible says, “But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s care all of the prisoners who were in prison; and whatever was done there, he was the doer of it; the keeper of the prison paid no heed to anything that was in Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper!” Is it no wonder Joseph, at the age of thirty, became governor of Egypt, second only to Pharaoh? But I’m getting ahead of the story. Before his release from prison he did his Preparation; he had taken the necessary steps to attain and maintain the position of leadership and wealth. So when the time came for him to “move-out” he was ready. Metaphysical interpretation and symbology give us insights for our own release from whatever imprisons us. “Joseph’s ‘coat of many colors’ indicates that when we open up this new realm of consciousness and begin to use the Imagination, our conception of Truth is colored by the many previous mental states that have so long herded our flocks of thoughts,” according to Charles Fillmore in his book, “Mysteries of Genesis.”
Mr. Fillmore continues “At this stage we have not yet come into the understanding, into the pure white light of unqualified Truth. … The Joseph faculty is the dreamer of dreams and the seer of visions.” It’s no wonder that metaphysically Joseph sybolizes Imagination. As you may recall the story, Joseph had accurately predicted the seven years of plenty and the seven years of famine. He suggested preparation to save during the years of plenty to provide during the years of famine. This is appropriate advice for these times also. Not only was Egypt affected by the famine, but so was Canaan the land where Jacob (his father) still lived. Jacob sent all of his sons but Benjamin to buy grain from Egypt. By this time Joseph was Governor of Egypt, so it was he who the brothers approached for assistance. He was much older, and they did not recognize him, but he recognized them. He played some rather fascinating games with them before he finally revealed his identity as their brother. Eventually the entire family, including his father, Jacob, moved to Egypt. They settled in Goshen and lived lavishly during the lifetime of Joseph who died at the age of one hundred and ten. This was the beginning of the Exodus story. It concludes when Moses lead the Israelites from Egypt (after the new Pharaoh enslaved them) to The Promised Land (Jacobs former home in Canaan). (You will enjoy reading the story of Joseph in The Bible for further details and insights that you can use in your own life RIGHT NOW! Also Catherine Ponder has presented Joseph’s story in her excellent books, “Prosperity Secret of the Ages,” and “Millionaires of Genesis”).
Although Joseph’s story is fascinating, you may be asking, “So what’s this got to do with my transformation?” Joseph turned his apparent liabilities into assets. I like to use this example in regard to “Be here now.” He practised the advice, “Be faithful over little and I’ll put you over much.” He did what he could, with what he had, where he was, at the time, under the circumstances. When his opportunity came he was ready. He had done his Preparation.
So often we forget to “do what we do while we are doing it.” This is the only moment of which you can be certain, so live it to the fullest while preparing for the future, but be HERE, not in the future! We do not want to live our entire life in the future and completely miss today. Even in prison (as was Joseph) we can make the very most of it. This is an important key to Transformation given to us by Joseph.
“I HAVE A DREAM”
The universe supports our dreams in unexpected ways. For instance when I first wrote this material in 1982 I dreamed of some day creating a wholistic center. I visualized, affirmed, and treasure-mapped (see explanation elsewhere) for it. So imagine my delight while watching a TV show, “There is a Way,” to see my former Unity teacher, David Williamson, a minister from Detroit, Michigan. I thrilled to see his tape that had aired on PM Magazine in Detroit of the realization of his dream; the Wholistic Living Institute. He encouraged others to create such a program, and this gave me support. Through the wisdom of the years my dream evolved to Inner Freedom Ministry by mail for inmates, and others imprisoned to addictions, habits, patterns, poverty, illness, and relationships. This is a more practical use of my writing and expertise. And in the past year, I’ve been God-guided to the fulfillment of this dream with my Inner Freedom.net website, which incorporates all of my writing and programs.
Rev. David Willliamson is an expert on dreams and dream interpretation. The next week he appeared on the show again and this time he discussed dreams! I’d been having unusual ones, so appreciated his insights. He doesn’t believe in the hard and fast dream symbology approach, but suggests it’s important to consider what’s going on in your life at the time. You may find solutions or answers in your dreams, He told that the sewing-machine needle was revealed in a dream, as were many other inventions and ideas. He also explained that we have practical dreams and the “Big Dream” such as those interpreted by Joseph. They can be spiritual, healing or transforming dreams. The most important question in dream interpretation is , “What does it mean to you?” Rev. Williamson suggests that anyone interested in their dreams keep a pad by the table and write down the dreams immediately upon awakening; otherwise they fade from memory. Rev. Williamson presented the following meditation to use before sleep follows: “I dream the dreams of Him who sent me. My dreams tonight will draw me closer to my right fulfillment. Tonight my dreams will be God’s dreams. My dreams are healing influences. They are God’s messengers to me–creating, unifying, restoring, renewing me. My dreams expand my consciousness into the cosmic consciousness so that I am more aware of the treasures of life and I have good success in the projects I am guided to undertake.
“My dreams reach forth to those around me, exerting a positive, healing influence on them. My dreams bring me into a whole new relationship with my environment. My involvement with society is made more responsible and interesting. Negative scripts or programs in myself are revealed and constructively changed through revelations in my dreams tonight. All fears, inferiority feelings, hatreds, guilts which are destructive are shown to me clearly as undesirable. “I am shown my spiritual power and love which transforms my whole soul into a healthier me. My dreams express my fuller potential and invigorate my life with Infinite energy. If it is important for me to remember a dream, I will remember it. My dreams affect my thinking, feeling, speech, behavior patterns as I meditate and go about the everyday business of my life. I am much more intuitive, telepathic, and super aware. I know the things I need to know easily. Good flows to me from every direction and I am grateful.” Meaning-filled dreams– David Williamson
Note: See Transformation Index for link to Twelve Powers in You by David Williamson and co-authors. I regret to report that David Williamson died in 2000. In 2005, I am facilitating “Transformations Twelve Powers Study and Support Group, at the Portland Unity Church, and I’m using “The Twelve Powers in You,” as one of the texts. I’ve also talked on the phone with Gay Lynn Williamson, and I’ve exchanged e-mail with Dr. Robert Knapp, the two co-authors of that book.
BE HERE NOW
Do you recall the chains worn by Old Marley in “A Christmas Carol”? They are the chains we drag around with us when we are unwilling to release the past: all our hurts, angers, resentments, grievances, failures and regrets, fears, and even our past joys, memories and triumphs. They are a dead-weight that keeps us in bondage just as surely as those chains of Old Marley. On the other hand, we can be just as chained to bondage in the future. Oftentimes, we are so busy fantasizing our future and what “might be” that we miss today.
“This is the day which the lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it”! Today–“this day”– not yesterday or tomorrow or “when this or that happens.” Is it possible to simply let go of all those past sorrows and grievances as quell as joys and triumphs to “Be here now” in this day? On the other hand, can we let go of the expectations and dreams of tomorrow to live “this day”? At the Burning Bush, Moses was told the words “The place on which you are standing is holy ground.” God did not say that if we go to the nearest church, synagogue or temple, or to California or Maine we would find “holy ground.” He said right where you are is the holiest place to experience all that you wish to know, have and do. Sometimes I’m disappointed that I haven’t fulfilled all my dreams. It takes a great deal of Faith to “be here now,” and to know that I will make it. Then God reminds me of all the good in my life right now; all that I am doing in my life right now; all of the wonderful people in my life right now. At those times I stop, relax and enjoy the moment. Often the hardest part of my life seems to be to stop or slow down and relax. When I decided to go into partnership with God in the Rainbow Center I wrote down the list of what I would need Him to do for me. The next day He told me what He wanted me to do as my part in the Partnership. I was a bit chagrined to find the first item on the List was “Relax, Enjoy”!
To live in the “Here and now” we take care of mental emotional and spiritual fitness, because “We are what we eat,” and also, “We are what we think,” and “We are what we feel” (emotional) and “We are what we believe” (spiritual). I use to watch Jack LaLanne’s physical fitness program on TV. He often spoke of the need for daily attention to the needs of the body for optimal functioning. He said if we take care of our body it will take care of us. Jack is in his seventies and still has the physical dexterity of a man in his twenties.
I write to many people in literal prisons. That is not the most ideal place , yet, there are those in prison who have created a heaven. Remember, “the kingdom of heaven is within.” When we learn to appreciate and be thankful for what we have and where we are and who we are right here and now the “best is yet to be.” That does not mean we are to live in the tomorrow of what is to be “best,” but the now of what is here. “What can I do right here and now to make my life what I want it to be. A valuable part of “Being here now” is the ability to “Receive all persons as beautiful exactly where they are,” starting with oneself. Can you possibly behold the beauty of that wonderful creation of God — just the way you are? One year, when writing and publishing the Rainbow Connection, In mid-May as I wrote this article for the June issue, the final preparations for mailing the May issues were in progress. I had hoped to have them in the mail by May first, but after doing all I could there was nothing more I could do than let it unfold in Divine order and Divine Timing.
I’ve never gone through such a period of frustration. It seems the old negative adage “If it can go wrong it will go wrong” was in effect; pages were wrongly numbered and had to be redone. My computer entry gal started a night job plus her day job, and was so tired she made some errors in the format and had to redo most of the issue. My eighty-plus mother tried to help and put some of the labels upside down. And everything I attempted was a disaster. I kept asking God what is the Lesson? The answer, “Relax. It will be ready, mailed and received in perfect timing.” It was, and the June issue, in which this article appeared, got done too. And now ten years later I’m using the material for my booklet on “Imagination.” And the process continues. Today I’d wanted to accomplish a number of activities, but circumstances interfered, so I relaxed, read a magazine, and avoided becoming stressed. I have finally learned this lesson.
Sit or lie in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and relax. Visualize light blue energy of Light centering between your eyes. Take a deep breath and as you exhale imagine the Light begin to gently swirl in your head, and then throughout your entire body. As the Energy swirls and permeates your body, saturate your consciousness with it — taste, smell, feel — so you can recreate it any time you need its energies for Creativity, Visualization, Preparation, or Being Here Now, or anything associated with this power of Imagination. Continue swirling the light blue Energy throughout your body, and then focus your attention between your eyes in the center for Imagination — the third eye location — and affirm, “I am Imagination.” Now imagine a giant screen in this area, or directly in front of you, whichever feels most comfortable. Looking into this swirling Light choose something you’d like to visualize, and picture it on your screen. See all the details including size, shape, and color so the picture is very clear. Practise this exercise with various pictures to develop this Power of Imagination. Anytime you need to visualize anything, recreate your screen; for instance an idea that needs further inspiration will materialize during this Process.
You may use this Process for money, health, relationships, addictions, habits, or patterns when asking for the pictures. It is a process for your subconscious mind — with assistance from the superconscious, so ask your conscious mind to observe and learn; but not intellectualize or try to figure it out, or direct the Process. Centering your attention on your Visualization Screen imagine yourself holding a handful of strings attached to a huge barrage of varied-colored balloons such as you’d see at a fair, circus, or Disneyland. When the picture is clear look into a balloon and ask your subconscious to give you a picture of a memory from your past concerning the selected subject. Take your time to really get into whatever you are experiencing. Continue looking into each new balloon for a new picture until you feel complete. Then ask Your subconscious to give you the picture from your past that set up your present attitude, pattern, or habit that evolved from it. This can be a shocker as your subconscious and superconscious work together to free you from those past influences. Each time you do the process you will receive more insights and information for deeper understanding and realizations that bring about your transformed life. When you’re through take time to jot down your experiences and feelings ii your notebook.
A simple little book entitled, “It Works” can be a key to all that you desire. It is exceedingly important in the area of Preparation. This is how “It Works:” Write down the things and conditions you really want. Arrange them in their present order of importance. However you can change them as you get insights regarding your priorities. You can add to, take from or rearrange. The purpose is to gain clarity. As you get the things you want, remove them from your list. Always give thanks for what you have received. Look at your list three times a day in order to keep them in your consciousness. Think about the things you want as often as possible. Become saturated with this exercise. However, don’t talk about it to anyone, because their consciousness could influence yours in a negative way. You can discuss it with your inner Being. Do not limit yourself in the things and conditions you place on your list with such rationalization as “I can’t afford it, no one ever did it, it’s impossible, I’m too old,” etc. Always give thanks before and after receiving. Remember the prayer of Jesus when He gave thanks in advance. It is well to add to your list: “This or something better for the highest good of all concerned.”
The idea of a Treasure-map is to impress on your subconscious mind those things and conditions which you desire and for which you are programming while also informing the universe (God). Actually, it is a picture-prayer. It is essential to get clarity by preparing for your Treasure-map with the above exercise from “It Works.” Be careful to list details in your programming. There is the story of the lady who cut out a picture of a handsome man from a liquor ad. He was holding a glass in his hand. She found her handsome man, married him and lived to regret it. He was an alcoholic! Be clear in your mind and in your programming! As a supplement to your Treasure-map you will find it supportive to include some ENJOY!!!
As I rewrite this article, in 1993 I realize many of my desires and dreams have been fulfilled, or are in progress. It Works.” Yet, as I enter this piece on Imagination onto the website in June, 2001, I must admit that in 1993 little did I know that the true fulfillment of my dreams would not begin until 2000 when my Inner Freedom Ministry went on-line. And, even then, it was another year before I finally got my program in full swing. The truth is that I didn’t even know about computer technology in those days, so I would not have known to put such imagings on my Treasure-Map. That’s why we always add: “This or something better.”Also, when I wrote this piece, I had no idea the twists or turns my life would take, nor that my husband and I would one day be living full-time in a 35 ft. Holiday Rambler RV, while traveling around the country seeing the sights, visiting family and friends, and even Freedomers. And I suspect that the best is yet to be.
