ABOUT THE MUSIC
Musical accompaniment for your seminar further impresses upon your subconscious the lessons. Whenever you hear, at any time in the future, the melodies, your seminar experience will be refreshed in your consciousness.
Some suggested songs and music are included. Adding your own can be fun, creative and expanding; it also provides an opportunity for adventure and self-awareness as you search for the appropriate music. Preparing your own tapes of the Processes and/or musical accompaniment is especially impressive upon your subconscious. I’ve spent hours, days, weeks searching out just the right music or song, which keeps me focused on the lessons. I use the following music in my seminars. However, any music that helps to impress these songs on your subconscious mind are okay. I’d love to hear your suggestions. If you don’t have access to music don’t worry, the program works without it.

ABOUT THE MANDALA AND COLORS
The mandala is a unique method of communication with both the subconscious and superconscious. Through the use of colors and designs it encourages the subconscious to release memories, pictures, and awareness of buried or past information and pertinent experiences. This can be healing in all aspects of a transformed life as these memories surface and are blessed, forgiven, and released.
The mandala also serves as a vehicle for the Superconscious to guide and inspire. When you feel guided to use a certain color you can ask the Superconscious, “Why?” Revelations will instruct, and inform. Ideas and inspiration will begin to flow. The color-coordinations were suggested by Unity in conjunction with their “Twelve Powers of Man” Sunday School material. Healing energies can be released in the body by visualizing the designated color(s) in the body locations of the specific Power(s).
Yellow is the predominant color of Wisdom, however you may wish to correlate your mandala with your Temple of Light Process. If you wish to work with the Idea of Substance, you may want to use only yellows and golds to create an opulent mandala. Ideas may have come up that you wish to incorporate into your mandala, or you may wish to color it while seeking Ideas for something you wish to create; or for answers you are seeking.
If you have a great deal to work out concerning Judgment and condemnation, you may wish to use your mandala for that purpose, especially if you are harsh in self-judgment and condemnation with punishment being a contributing factor. Of course, the same applies in regard to others. It may be that you need to do some releasing in these areas. If so, you can use some russet or brown colored with orange to emphasize the Renunciation, Cleansing or Releasing. Enjoy!

SONS OF THUNDER: JAMES
James and John, Peter, and sometimes Andrew, were part of the inner circle. All but Andrew were with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration. This tells us Faith, Love, and Wisdom must be present when: we are in this high place in consciousness where the Transfiguration occurs. We shall be in this place during our Wisdom session of Transformation.
The brothers, James and John, were called “sons of thunder by Jesus. Perhaps because they symbolically represent the love center (John) and abdominal area, realm of the Subconscious (James). Stomach or abdominal problems can be the results of the conscious and subconscious in conflict and/or from fear, criticism, disapproval, or being made -wrong.” Also the eyes can be affected in conjunction with these complaints. I’ve found confusion and indecision often result from blockages in these areas, and can be relieved when we ask our Superconscious for guidance. We can also call upon James, and use the yellow energies of Wisdom.
The “sons of thunder” give us insights into our own transformation process. They sometimes reflect our own human shortcomings, and the Wisdom for overcoming, thus giving us hope. Most Bible references to James also include his brother, John. In his book “XIII Men Who Changed the World,” Rev. Vigeveno write one infamous story which involves their mother, Salome (not the one of seven veils fame). He presents a picture of an ambitious mother controlling her household and sons. Maybe that explains heir title, “sons of thunder.” In any event she asked Jesus a favor, as the Bible account in Matthew reads: Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came up to him with her sons, and kneeling before him she asked him for something. And he said, ‘What do you want?’ She said to him, ‘Command that these two sons of mine may sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your kingdom.'”
It’s difficult to interpret this request from any other standpoint than an ambitious mother for her sons. In fact, Jesus received it as such, at least on a conscious level, for He said to them, “Are you able to drink from the cup that I am to drink from?” They affirmed they were. And then Jesus prophesized their death (both to be killed for being a Christian). He said, “You will drink from my cup, but to sit at my right hand and at my left is not mine to grant; it is for those whom it has been prepared by my Father.” Marks version vindicates the mother but says the brothers asked Jesus themselves; but of course he wasn’t there. John and Matthew, however, were present, and their accounts continue by stating the other disciples were angry at this request to receive special honors.” Jesus called them all together and spoke regarding spiritual greatness, -You know that those who are supposed to rule over the Gentiles, the Lord will rule over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you; whoever would be great among you, must be in your ministry, and whomever would be first among you must be servant of all. For tie Son of man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
This is a good lesson about balance and power, for true wisdom is not self-righteous, judgmental, or dictatorial, but humble in the sense of knowing, “I of myself can do nothing; it is not I but tie Father within who doeth the works.” And the old saying holds true, “You find yourself when you lose yourself in service to ethers.”
Another similar episode of the “sons of thunder” remind us they too needed to mellow just as we do. They were all passing through Samaria. When James and John asked for lodging for the group they werb refused because the Samaritans hated the Jews for their haughty behavior. They said, “Lord, do you want us to bid fire to cone down from heaven and consume them?” This is Love and Wisdom in their unredeemed form of judgment which wants to condemn; and Love reverts to the base passion of anger and retribution.
They both need to be lifted up or redeemed, as do all Twelve Powers. Remember they hadn’t learned the lesson Jesus did in the wilderness that we must not use these powers for personal grandiosity or revenge. The disciples were just ordinary folks such as ourselves from all walks of life and they too went through the Process of discipline before becoming Apostles. That’s why they’re called disciples, having the same root as discipline, which means according to Webster, “To train or develop by instruction and exercise, especially self-control.”
We are all disciples as we are endeavoring to change our old patterns and develop a new consciousness. And we know this is an inside job. It doesn’t require a great reform for everyone else. It’s okay to share with others, but only if they ask. Our most effective tool is example, as the saying goes, “Be careful how you live your life, you may be the only Bible your neighbor reads.”
“YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD”
Do you believe that you are the light of the world as Jesus says? Let’s examine more fully His actual words and the circumstances under which He said them. In the “Sermon on the Mount” He said, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Jesus is referring to the custom of his time for people who lived in large communal-type houses to share their lamps with others less fortunate who could not afford the fuel for their lamps; some selfish folks would hide their lamps so no one else could use the light. This is the literal explanation of the statement. On another level it means that once you receive the light of Truth, Enlightenment, or Understanding, you have a responsibility to share it by living it. In other words you are not to go about trying to convert everyone, but simply be the Truth you know. “Let your Light shine. Radiate the Light and Love that you are.
You may find you’ve outgrown your past lifestyle and acquaintances. You may no longer have as much in common with some of your friends, but you will attract new ones who walk in the Light with you. When your combined Light joins there will be greater Light as Jesus said, “Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” What better company can you keep? Also in the “Sermon on the Mount” we read, “The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light; but if your eyes is not sound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is tie darkness?” I might add, if your whole body is full of light; how great is the light? This gets us back to consciousness. The eye here also means, “What you see is what you get.” Or, “Seeing is believing.” You can ask your own indwelling Spirit to reveal more interpretation.
One time Jesus was having a confrontation with the Pharisees who refused to accept or acknowledge he was the Messiah, or even a prophet because it is written, -No prophet is to rise from Galilee.” He said, -I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. Again Jesus used the light and the eye symbolically when He said, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
He then made a spittle of clay and placed it on the blind man’s eyes, and the blind man could see. When asked what he could now see the man spoke with inner vision as he said, “He is a prophet.” This incited the Jews, but the man said, “Whether he is a sinner, I do not know; one thing I know, that though I was blind, now I see.” And that was enough proof for him. Once we’ve seen the Light, we question or doubt no more. We are enlightened, and we say, “I know and I know that I know.”
But others who have not experienced the Light of Truth do not understand, just as the Jews were even more incensed and threw the man out. Jesus found the man and said, -Do you believe in the Son of man?” And he said, “Who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?” Jesus said to him, -You have seen him and it is he who speaks to you,” and the man said, “Lord, I believeand he worshipped him.”
I was guided to this next passage without having intellectually planned it. Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind.” Some of the Pharisees standing around hasseling Jesus said, “Are we also blind?” And Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would have no guilt, but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains.'” He then spoke of the good shepherd, and concluded “I know my own and my own know me, as the Father knows me and I know the Father.”
In so many ways Jesus tried to explain to the people, and He’s still teaching us, but we don’t understand. Finally He said they weren’t ready. He said the Holy Spirit, the counsellor would come and tell us when we are ready. Are we ready? If so the Holy Spirit within will reveal to us now what we are to know and understand.
TEMPLE OF LIGHT PROCESS
The Temple of Light Process brings us through Transfiguration and we know what Jesus experienced. Remember He said, Anything I can do you can do.” So we too are Transfigured when we reach a higher consciousness. According to Webster the word Transfigure means, “A change in appearance — metamorphosis, an exalting, glorifying or spiritual change.
You may use your Temple of Light Process for making decisions, or so obtain any information or solutiions. Now that you realize all knowledge is within whenever you need answers simply ask. That message came to me one time I went through the Temple of Light with a problem, and tried to be helpful and find the solution from my Conscious level even though I didn’t know the answer. However, I soon realized the answers would be given when I got myself out of the way.
Become comfortable, close your eyes, relax, and center your attention in your abdomen. Visualize a golden yellow energy of Light. Take a deep breath and feel the gently swirling energy heal as it moves through your abdominal area. This is the center for your Subconscious, so any emotional pain or hurts can also be healed with this energy. And within this emotional realm lives
your Inner Child, so allow the golden Light to penetrate those childhood memories; break up and heal them.
As the radiant Light continues swirling throughout your body, keep your attention focused in your abdomen to resolve any conditions of judgment — good or bad — of yourself and others. Allow the Light to shine into those dark hidden places where judgment and condemnation patterns hide out and ask the positive qualities of this center to transform them into good judgment so you can discriminate wisely and select only that which is true and enlightening. This yellow energy guides and illuminates. It is your inner Light and it’s always there for you to call upon for Wisdom, Guidance, Enlightenment, Illumination, and Judgment. Affirm “I AM LIGHT, I AM WISDOM, I AM JUDGMENT.” Repeat these affirmations to yourself as the golden yellow Light continues swirling throughout your entire body.
Feel it gaining intensity as your body becomes filled with Light. Experience the Light so you can re-create it any time you need Illumination. This is the “Light of the world” Jesus said we are to “let shine.” Affirm “I let my light shine.” Remember He said, “Don’t hide your Light under a bushel.” Are you holding beck your Light in any way?
This is the Light that lights your way, illumines your path. It has ow become as intense as the rays of the sun and you know you Ire the “Light of the world.” Your Light is shining with such intensity the entire world feels its brilliance. When you Feel complete with this Process become aware of the room and gradually bring yourself back. And when you are ready open your eyes and look around at the Light in the room.
There’s “gold dust in the air.” That’s what Catherine Ponder calls Divine Substance, which actually is invisible. It’s the underlying idea of all manifestation. And it’s what the prophet Hosea understood when he said, “I am become rich, I have found me out substance.” Once we have brought the idea forth into manifestation it’s called matter. We can see it. But substance is
tie invisible out of which all things are created. When we take anything back to its beginning, we find its source. And beyond that is the invisible Source, Divine Substance. Another word is God. Everything is created out of that invisible Substance, God. So we have within us all that God is. “I and the Father are One.” There is no separation. For instance, if we took one drop of water
away from the ocean, that drop would contain all that the ocean is, yet it is not the entire ocean. However, that drop has the memory of having been part of the whole. So it is with us, but most of us have forgotten our Oneness. Scientists know there is within each atom an unknown something not yet named. Metaphysicians know this is what Paul referred to as “The mystery hidden for ages, Christ in you your hope of glory.” Within that God-presence is the memory of our Oneness. And there is found all knowledge. It is our point of contact with the Holy Spirit who, as Jesus said, -will teach all things and brings to our remembrance all that I have said to you.”
TEMPLE OF LIGHT (WISDOM)
With this awareness of Oneness in mind we are now ready to complete the Temple of Light Process. It is also called the Temple of Wisdom. So use this Process to glean further Wisdom, knowledge, or Understanding.
Now again visualize that golden yellow Light energy in the area of your abdomen. Now recognize yourself as the king of the world. And then notice a radiant beam of Light extending from you toward the sun. Go with that sunbeam to its source. When you are there imagine this Light becoming a Temple of Light. Allow your imagination to create an opulent, brilliant, glorious Temple. Then ask the Holy Spirit to show you The Temple of Wisdom in all its magnificence; beyond anything you could possibly imagine. When you enter the Temple you will notice miles and miles of corridors with doorways along each side. As you begin walking down the hallway you realize each door leads to knowledge or information. You may walk into any room you choose. Sit down and ask whatever questions you wish. Stay in that room unti1 you receive your answers, then move on to any other room you may select. -Ask and it will be given you; seek and you will find; knock and it shall be opened to you.” Do you really believe this promise? If so your answers will be given. Do not invalidate your experience with disbelief. one person found all the rooms computerized. He just pushed buttons and the answers came. Then he went to a computerized conference room and correlated all his information. You will be having your own experience; each will be different, however the Truth remains the same.
If you have questions pertaining to the subjects we’ve discussed, or elating to your own wisdom, judgment, or intelligence issues you may ask. Remember all knowledge is within you, so now is the time for answers you’ve always sought. You can even ask such questions as “What is the nature of God, man, reality?” Keep in mind it’s not necessary to wander through these corridors forever. If you do not receive answers now, remember you may return any time you choose. Also, the answers may be presented at another time or in some other form.
This Temple of Light is symbolic of Divine Substance. This is the infinite warehouse wherein the ideas behind all manifestation exist. Notice everything you ever wanted is here waiting for you to present your claim check. You may want to ask why your desires have not yet materialized — if they haven’t. Take as long as you wish while the music plays. When you are ready you nay merge with the Light beam and return to being who you are. You are the Temple of Light. As Paul said, “You are the temple of the Living God.” You are created out of the very essence — the very substance — of God. Again take your time. When your Process is complete you may open your eyes and write in your notebook or color your mandala.
During the Temple of Light Process you may have become Enlightened, which means being furnished knowledge or given spiritual insight, and you may have become Transfigured. Charles Fillmore says “The Transfiguration is always preceded by a change of mind. our ideas must be lifted from the material, the physical to the spiritual consciousness.” This can be an instantaneous happening or it can be ongoing. Most people who are going through growth and awareness do experience an overall change that reflects in the outer appearance. This includes clearer skin tone and a new sparkle in the eyes which radiates as a transformed aura.
The Bible’s description of the Transfiguration of Jesus says, nd Jesis was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his garments became white as light. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking with him.” Peter, again overzealous, wanted to build a shrine in honor of the occasion. And the account continues, “He was still speaking, when lo, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, ‘This is my beloved son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.’ When the disciples heard this they fell on their faces, and
were filled with awe.”
You may have had a similar experience in your Temple of Light Process, or maybe some other time. I did quite some years ago at Unity Village when I was seeking Enlightenment. The very same words, “this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased’ were spoken to me as part of a lengthy Process. After that I said, “I know and I know that I know.”
Yet we doubt. No wonder after coming down from the mountain and being told the other disciples couldn’t perform a healing, Jesus said, “O faithless generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? When asked-why they hadn’t been able to heal the boy He said, -Because of your little faith.”
CREATING FEATHERS AND MOVING MOUNTAINS
Let me ask you, “Do you really believe the following promise? “For truly I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move hence to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.'” This is such an important promise that Jesus repeated it another time with different words, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and never doubt, you will not only do what has been done to he fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will be done. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive if you have faith.” Mark adds, “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that our Father also who is in heaven nay forgive you your trespass.”
These are not just idle words. Jesus was making a statement of fact, and He said “Anything I can do you can do.” Everything else He promised works when we follow His words. And that’s basicly what this Wisdom lesson is about — moving mountains; or :reating our own reality. Are we ready for this? If we can actually do and have anything and everything then we no longer have any excuse for lack and limitation. Ooops. Are we ready for the Responsiblity?
Jesus sail that nothing is impossible. You see, we hear these words and we think, “That’s nice. But he doesn’t mean I could actually move a mountain.” Well, I don’t know. Richard Bach tells us in his book “Illusions” that we can create whatever we want. And the disciple in that story managed to create a blue feather, only it appeared on a milk carton. But that’s a step.
When I wrote the above words when I first wrote this course I ran a book store in my home. While writing the above words the doorbell rang. The mail man delivered a back order of “Illusions.” The lesson for me then was to emphasize that a blue feather, or whatever we desire, may not necessarily materialize out of thin air to prove this works. Just as the blue feather appeared on a milk carton and my books arrived that day, our demonstrations can manifest in many ways. Another time I wanted to replace my rainbow envelopes which had been discontinued by my former distributor. I went through a lengthy procedure of search and find. Yes, God specializes in miracles, but sometimes manifestation occurs in a normal manner, and I finally located a new distributor for an ongoing supply. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen “out of thin air.” I believe it was Marjorie Russell, a Unity teacher, who told the story of a wash rag literally manifesting in a time of need. I’ve forgotten the story, but I never forgot the miracle of the washrag. I’ve had several miracles of my own. One time a friend and I were shopping for a jacket for me. With the help of the clerk we looked at every jacket on the rack and there was none in my size or color preference. My friend, who manifests miracles on a regular basis, walked around the rack, reached for a jacket in my color and Announced, “Here is one in your size.” The clerk looked amazed. Another time I wanted a specific swimsuit, but found none in my size. I walked around the rack, affirmed it would be there, returned and there was my swimsuit.
This same friend I mentioned earlier jumped over a log and broke his ankle. We heard it snap. He put his hand on it and said, “oh no you don’t,” and walked away on it. At a later time a doctor took an x-ray of that area and said, “Oh I see that broken ankle mended nicely.” What do you want? Name it and it’s yours. Of course, there are a few stipulations; “Have faith and never doubt, ask in prayer, believe that you receive; forgive.” When you have accompliohed this on all levels it will be “done unto you.” Do you believe this?
CHARLES FILLMORE SPEAKS ON WISDOM
Mr. Fillmore is a good example to discuss in this Wisdom chapter. He did not complete grade school, yet his knowledge as written in his books covers information and facts scientists are only now beginting to discover. And he wrote it over a hundred years ago. He got his wisdom and knowledge direct from the Source; and so can we!
He approached God from the intellectual standpoint. He said, “If this stuff works, prove it.” And he did. He would sit for hours in tie evening in direct communication with God. And then he founded Unity School of Christianity, a church/school built around these teachings. I am a licensed Unity teacher and I base much of my writings upon these Truths.
I use to say “I don’t know where Unity ends and I begin or visa versa. However a time came when I was guided from within to detach myself From Unity and expand my viewpoint to attain a more diversified perspective, which I did. I now find myself guided back to Unity. With a debt of gratitude I acknowledge that I love Unity deeply. My heart will always be with Unity. Let’s return to Charles Fillmore again to inspire us with his infinite wisdom in the form of words.
He writes “You are mind. Your consciousness is formed of thoughts. These thoughts may be true or false, depending on your understanding and use of divine laws. You must open the walls of your mental house by a willingness to receive and weigh these thoughts in the balance of good judgment, and to drop out of your mind everything except the one Idea: ‘I want to know Truth. I am willing to learn.'”
Mr. Fillmore explains that God does not rule over us in a manlike, arbitrary manner, for God is also principle, and as such, is unchanging. This is reassuring in these changing, unstable times!”Mr. Fillmore continues his discussion of mind and ideas: -God is mind. Mind evolves ideas. These ideas are evolved in an orderly way. The laws of mind are just as exact and undeviating asthe laws of mathematics or music. To recognize this is the starting point in finding God. God is %isdom; and wisdom is made manifest in an orderly manner through your consciousness. God is substance — unchangeable, incorruptible, imperishable — to the spiritual mind and body of man. “This substance of mind, faith, does not happen to be here today and there tomorrow, but it is moved upon by ideas which are as unchanging as Spirit.”
He continues with a discussion of the omnipresence of God as Mind as he says, “There can be no absence of Mind.” Finally he summarizes his thesis with the statements “Your body is the soil in which God’s life is planted. Your mind is the light for which he supplies the oil. ‘I am the light of the world,’ said Jesus.
“Intelligence is the light of the world. Let your light shine by increasing the supply of oil, by increasing your consciousness of life, and by learning how to draw upon the omnipresent God for every need.”
Isn’t it interesting that I have a bookshelf full of Charles Fillmore’s books as well as many others. Yet, this book and these word$ are the ones I was guided to share with you for this lesson.
In his book “Twelve Powers of Man” Charles Fillmore says, “When we awaken to the reality of our being, the light begins to break upon us From within and we know the truth; this is the quickening of our James or judgment faculty. When this quickening occurs, we find ourselves discriminating between the good and the evil. We no longer accept the race standards or the teachings of the worldly wise, but we ‘judge righteous judgment;’ we know with an inner intuition, and we judge men and events from a hew viewpoint.”
Some of you may be thinking, “Oh, I’m not doing all that good.” Have you ever listened to yourself as judge and jury? That person is too fat or thin, or homely, or thus and so.” and of course this is usually a projection we’ve pronounced upon ourselves. As if that isn’t bad enough we also condemn. “Because of these obvious shortcomings we’re not okay.” And we carry these judgments and condemnations into our surroundings, “It is raining today, therefore it is a bad day.” Could we possibly train ourselves to acknowledge that it’s raining, and it has nothing to do with the kind of day? That a person is fat or thin, and it has nothing to do with the kind of person? I look the way I look, or behave as I do, and it has nothing to do with whether or not I’m okay?
We tend to form an opinion, judge, and then condemn based upon our personal opinion without regard to reality, and usually we are not in full possession of all the facts. You see, it’s essential to our survival to make judgments and discriminate. For instance, “I see a big, black, furry object over there in the trees.” I form a judgment, “It’s a bear and bears have certain behavior patterns not conducive to my health, so I will give the bear lots of space, and I will leave.” The bear is okay and I’m okay. I have judged but not condemned.
An illustration is found in John 8:3, 4 concerning the woman taken in adultery. Her accusers were trying to trick Jesus into making a judgment that would condemn Him according to Jewish law. However, Jesus stooped down and wrote something on the ground as though He didn’t hear them. When they continued their questions He arose and said, “He that is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” He said, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you? She said, “No one, Lord.” And here we have the beautiful lesson in Love and Judgment with no condemnation as Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; Go and sin no more.” It seems we are most harsh in judging ourselves. No one, especially a Cod of Love, would condemn us with the harshness we bestow upon ourselves. And we pay the price all our lives with self-inflicted punishment for some misdeed or thought, probably in childhood. Most of us don’t even remember the incident, but our Subconscious dutifully carries out the punishment. And in most instances we didn’t even do the supposed deed for which we carry this guilt. For instance, in most divorces the children blame themselves with the Subconscious illogical reasoning in this crime and punishment phenomenon.
